It's July 4th and our time away from school is almost over. It seems that school gets out and we barely get to relax before the grind begins again.
I have been spending my time with my family. Brandon made the school Baseball team and he ended up with a 25-7 record. They went to the state tournament and lost in the semi-finals. It was interesting that his little-league coach saw fit to let him pitch 3 times from February to May. He pitched 7 times in the month of June for the Millers. I don't get it.
I coached my 10 year old son, Ryan, on his team. He was the catcher and he pitched some. He had an ok experience most of the time. He did have one spectacular outing as a pitcher. He threw a no-hit complete game shutout. We were so proud. Ryan acted like he did it every day!
Dillon had a great experience with his team too. Last season they were pretty awful as a team. They improved from a last place finish last spring to third place this year. He also hit his first Homerun! Very exciting for all of us.
The boys and I spend at least 4 nights a week fishing at our lake. It's pretty sweet to see my kids pull those fish out. Sometimes it's ridiculous to see the various sizes of fish. Once Dillon caught what can only be described as a minnow only to catch a 4 pound bass 5 minutes later.
As far as Band stuff goes...
I have spent a little time working on stand junk. Usually I have churned out 10-12 tunes by now. At this time I have finished 2. Yikes!
Our drill is being written by the same dude as last year. Be ready to run.
The Color Guard has been practicing about 3 days a week on average. Hopefully the drum line will get to camp safely!
Buckle up, camp starts in less than a month!
